Frequently asked questions

The text does not move when I speak

Check that PrompterCast may use the microphone and speech recognition: Settings → PrompterCast. In the app, open Settings → Reading and make sure Follows voice is selected. If your text is in a language other than your iPhone's, choose it under Speech language.

The text runs ahead or lags behind

During the first 10–20 seconds the app adjusts to your pace. After that it follows closely. Speak clearly and keep the phone within about a metre.

How do I record a video?

In the prompter, tap the camera button, then the red button. The countdown starts, the text moves and the video records. Tap the red button again to stop; the video is saved to Photos. Choose 1080p or 4K and the front or back camera in Settings → Video.

How do I open a file from Google Drive?

Install the Google Drive app. In PrompterCast tap File → Browse → ⋯ → Edit and turn on Google Drive. Word (.docx), PDF, RTF and TXT files open directly. For a Google Docs document, first choose Share & export → Save as Word in Google Docs.

Can I control the text from a distance?

Yes, with PrompterCast Pro: from Apple Watch, AirPods or headphones (play/pause, next and previous), and with Bluetooth pedals and remotes that work as a keyboard (Space or Return starts and pauses, arrow keys and Page Up/Down move by one line).

Текст не рухається, коли я говорю

Перевірте, чи дозволено PrompterCast мікрофон і розпізнавання мовлення: Параметри → PrompterCast. У програмі відкрийте Налаштування → Читання й виберіть За голосом. Якщо текст іншою мовою, ніж мова iPhone, виберіть її в пункті Мова мовлення.

Текст забігає вперед або відстає

Перші 10–20 секунд програма підлаштовується під ваш темп, далі йде точно. Говоріть чітко й тримайте телефон не далі ніж за метр.

Як записати відео?

У показі тексту натисніть кнопку камери, потім червону кнопку. Почнеться відлік, текст поїде, і йтиме запис. Щоб зупинити, натисніть червону кнопку ще раз — відео збережеться у «Фото». Якість 1080p або 4K і передню чи задню камеру можна вибрати в Налаштування → Відео.

Як відкрити файл із Google Диска?

Встановіть програму Google Drive. У PrompterCast натисніть Файл → Огляд → ⋯ → Змінити й увімкніть Google Drive. Файли Word (.docx), PDF, RTF і TXT відкриваються одразу. Документ Google Docs спершу збережіть як Word: Поділитися й експортувати → Зберегти як Word.

Чи можна керувати текстом на відстані?

Так, із PrompterCast Pro: з Apple Watch, AirPods чи навушників (старт/пауза, рядок уперед і назад), а також педаллю чи пультом Bluetooth, що працюють як клавіатура (пробіл або Enter — старт і пауза, стрілки й Page Up/Down — на рядок).
